HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT BOWL OF PORRIDGE

Always buying pre-packed, sweetened porridge pots/sachets?

Making your own oats is cheaper and quicker than you think!

  • 50g porridge oats

    300ml milk of your choice

    1 tsp cinnamon/vanilla extract

    1. Mix ingredients in a large bowl (make it bigger to stop the contents spilling over when you cook!)

    2. Cook in microwave for 4-5 minutes

    3. Stir then add protein powder (if required) & top with your favourite things!

    288kcals; 16g protein; 5g fat; 42g carbs; 5g fibre

    Want to boost your protein?

    Allow porridge to cool slightly for 1-2 minutes and then mix in a scoop of protein powder.

    Create some more flavour with some toppings…

    1. Add fruit

    2. Add extra sweetness (if needed) with nut butter/honey/chopped dates

    3. Finish with some crunch using nuts/seeds/cacao nibs

    A FEW FLAVOUR IDEAS:

    • Chocolate & nut butter - stir through cocoa powder or chocolate protein powder then top with banana, nut butter and cocoa nibs (if you like a bit of crunch!)

    • Vanilla, almond & raspberries - Stir through vanilla protein powder if you would like an extra protein boost and top with raspberries & almonds

    • Blueberries, honey & walnuts - Top with a handful of blueberries, drizzle of honey & a sprinkling of chopped walnuts
