Hump day feels

I left my phone on the table at home, put on my walking boots and took teddy & his ball out to the fields at lunch today!

I suddenly felt in desperate need of some fresh air, to take a breath away from this modern world of technology, to throw the ball for Teddy and watch him run back to me with a proud look on his face as he fetched the ball back to me, to live in the moment.

I don’t know about you but recently I have felt like I’m always looking ahead, thinking about what I need to do, and find myself out socialising and just thinking about things that I need to get done and not truly engaging with people.

We live in a world where people often talk about always wanting more, being too stressed, being too busy, too much to do, not having enough time, not feeling good enough… glass half full kind of vibe!

I saw a quote the other day:

“Those who ask if the glass is half full or half empty are missing the point - the glass is refillable”

That hit the nail on the head!

Yes, life can be tough & unfair and can wear your down at times.

But life can also be full of beautiful, amazing, exciting things if you take the time to refill that glass, recharge, take yourself away, find the bright spark in what can sometimes seem like a dark world to pick you back up and look at the world around you.

One of my clients said to me this morning that things were feeling tough recently with pressures of work.
My advice was find that bright spark. Because there will always be one, you may just have to look a bit harder sometimes.

While out of my walk today without the distraction of my phone to look down at, I thought myself as I often do when I’m not feeling my brightest star…

Chin up girl.

Look up.

Up the sky.

Up at the top of the trees.

Around at the colours.

Appreciate the beauty.

Take a deep breath.

Lift that smile.

What I noticed was the sun was shining bright, the bright yellows and oranges of the leaves still left on the trees, the sky was as blue & clear as anything, birds flying free and Teddy trotting proudly alongside me in the wide open fields loving life.

I was actually living in that moment.

For me, something about bright colours brightens my day whether that’s out in nature or you see me wearing bright coloured hats, t-shirts, socks (and carrying around my bright orange frank green bottle) and this is to bring that brightness to the world, for me and for those around that also get lifted up by those happy colours (for me the colours orange and yellow are just the happiest colours!)

I’ve been wearing a lot of black lately and I have not quite felt myself but I made a purchase of a couple of bright beanies (because I live in beanies most of the time during the winter & because these MHAC ‘bala’ beanies are pretty damn cool!) which has brought some colour back to my life and reminded me to create my own colour and bring it to the world.

The world needs more colour!

My bright colour clothes are making a come back…

I’m doing me.

My smile is lifting.

How are you lifting your smile today?
